Baby Quail

So, last night, our neighbor's husky found 7 nearly dead baby quail in the gutter in front of her home. We tracked down where they had hatched and found 10 more eggs (sadly the babies didn't make it). However, my neighboor and I scooped up the 7 freezing babies and immediately put them on a couple of heating pads and then I stole Andrew's turtle heat lamp for them and I think that saved their lives (well, 4 out of the 7 are still with us). Two passed away at 1:30 am and the other at about 9:30 am. I'm really tired. They now are sucking sugar water out of a medicine syringe and are eating seeds from off my fingers. Hopefully they'll make it through since they are orphans. Our house is literally a zoo. Friends and neighbors bring their kids and grandkids over just to observe the wildlife here. We have two dogs, about 50 fish, 4 turtles, 2 crazy boys, and now 4 quail. Not to mention the two frazzled adults who may or may not be smarter than monkeys.

Sunday fun

So, we thought it would be a great idea to take some pictures of the kids after church . . .well, they thought otherwise. As you can see, Connor finally escaped, so we just gave up. I guess sitting still for three hours has its limits. Can't push it after that . . .

Family pics

Well, for Grandma and Grandpa - here you go . . .I guess I forgot to post these earlier.

Our new little girl - Eva!

Eva (our new sweetheart English Cream Golden Retriever) is now turning 12 weeks old! She's so much fun for Sophie. Sophie is definately getting the exercise she so needed! Sophie is playing like a pup herself and sleeping like one too . . . we love having Eva in our family. Check out http://www.idahowhitegoldens.com/ to see all of her puppy pics w/her siblings! Too adorable. Wonderful breeders - great puppies.

Monsters & Aliens!

We took the boys to the movie "Monsters & Aliens" today at the Majestic theater. They had a blast and were so good during the entire show. They sat on our laps and shared a huge popcorn and each had their Sprites in hand. Well, Hunter spilled most of his in my lap, but other than that we were catastrophe-free! Wish we could have taken pics of them eating like 5 pounds of popcorn and just mesmorized by all the monsters on the big screen. Hunter's favorite monster was "the blue one" - Bob. We have no clue if Connor has a favorite monster - for all we know he was rooting for the bad guys - Galaxar and his clone aliens. Too fun!!

Clean Sophie

I know it looks a little strange, but I have to practice "poodle feet" on Sophie. At least she's patient with me!

The newest baby

I don't get any lovin' any more now that the Benz showed up at the house :-(

Funny kids

Hunter and Connor think it's so fun to get in "Buddy's crate" (Grandma and Grandpa's new puppy). I sure hope no one from social services sees this picture - -

Daddy playing and singing for Connor

Andrew has written a couple of songs on the piano - very pretty - and he plays by ear. Connor loves to be on the bench at the piano whenever we time!

My friend Darlene makes these delightful little delicacies for each and every gal in the Relief Society on their birthday! This was my fabulous cake from last week (after we ate quite a bit). Delicious!! And, so cute!
